About this event
Introducing the Student Impact Summer Series: Highlighting the Newman Civic Fellows Mini-Grant Program!
Join us for an inspiring look into the power of student leadership and community-driven change through the Student Impact Summer Series, featuring the outstanding work of our Newman Civic Fellows Mini-Grant recipients.
In spring 2026, Campus Compact awarded over $72,000 in mini-grants, up to $1,500 per project, to 58 Newman Civic Fellows across the country. With this support, alongside ongoing leadership development and civic engagement training, these student leaders have launched impactful initiatives addressing some of today’s most pressing challenges.
This year’s projects span a dynamic range of focus areas, including:
- Expanding access to education and career pathways
- Advancing community health and wellness
- Supporting justice-impacted and underserved populations
- Driving civic engagement and policy advocacy
- Building innovative, student-led solutions to local challenges
Across a series of engaging virtual sessions, Fellows will share their project goals, outcomes, and the lessons they’ve learned while leading change in their communities. From grassroots organizing to systems-level impact, these presentations offer a powerful window into what’s possible when students are equipped to lead.
This series is more than a showcase, it’s an opportunity to:
- Learn from emerging civic leaders
- Explore replicable ideas and models for community impact
- Connect with peers and partners across higher education
We warmly invite university leadership, faculty, staff, community partners, family, and friends to join us in celebrating these incredible students and their work. You’ll also have the opportunity to learn more about how to bring a Newman Civic Fellow to your campus and support the next generation of changemakers. Don’t miss this opportunity to witness the ripple effect of student-driven impact, and to be inspired by the future of civic leadership.
