- Learn the stages of a search — from presentation of materials to final interviews.
- Understand how search firms and institutions identify, evaluate, and recruit candidates.
- Recognize how community and civic engagement leadership experience is perceived in senior searches.

- Anatomy of a search and key stakeholders (firms, committees, boards).
- National trends in leadership hiring and the emerging civic mission narrative.
- Candidate sourcing: how names surface, what materials matter, and how readiness is assessed.
- Strategic use of professional networks (including Campus Compact) for visibility and nominations.
