Colleges and universities are essential to achieving the promise of full participation for everyone in our democracy, our economy, and our culture.
Campus Compact’s Biennial Summit of Presidents and Chancellors is an opportunity for leaders from all sectors of higher education to come together to discuss the practical steps we can take now to move closer to realizing that promise.
Goals
The purpose of this summit is to enable presidents and chancellors to return to their campuses with specific and actionable ideas for deepening the public and civic impact of their institutions. To that end, we will focus on concrete examples to help identify promising principles and practices:
For capitalizing on the heightened interest in participation in democracy among students as demonstrated by increased voting participation and other indicators
For building more inclusive and participatory communities
For linking full participation in public life to full participation in the economy
