Campus Compact is pleased to provide a Campus Action Planning for Civic and Community Engagement (CAP) Call-to-Action symposium designed to support the early phases of the CAP development process for a half-day, followed by an interactive Campus Champion Meet-Up developed to build community, socialize future Compact member supports, and cultivate the Champion identity, ending with a gathering reception.

Higher education professionals from Campus Compact member institutions are invited to join us for an interactive meet-up exploring how we create change, build coalitions, and advance civic and community engagement within our institutions—even when we don’t have formal authority to make change happen. Whether you serve as your institution’s official Campus Champion or are deeply engaged in advancing civic and community engagement on your campus, this gathering is designed to offer useful tools, new connections, and space to think strategically about the work ahead.

Join Campus Compact for a half-day event that will introduce concepts and guide attendees through the early phases of the Campus Action Planning development process.
In addition to sessions led by our CAP Fellows, we are pleased to include leadership and facilitation from Jenny Kern, Senior Vice President, from Spitfire Strategies as a feature of the symposium. The session will provide the opportunity to explore how values, messaging, and stories can play a critical role in advancing the civic and community engagement work of Campus Action Planning to bolster democracy and cultivate community flourishing.
5:00 PM - 6:30 PM
Join the Campus Compact community for an evening of connection over light bites and refreshments. All friends of Campus Compact are welcome, from attendees of the Campus Action Planning Symposium and the Campus Champion Meet-up and program alumni to members, partners, and colleagues across the region. Come reconnect, swap ideas, and meet the practitioners, faculty, administrators, and community partners who make this work happen!

Campus Champions Meet-Up and Campus Action Planning Symposium will take place at The Magnes Collection of Jewish Art and Life, located at 2121 Allston Way, Berkeley, CA 94720. Information about getting to The Magnes Collection building can be found at the Directions & Parking page.
The Friends of Campus Compact Reception will take place around the corner at Jupiter Beer Garden (2181 Shattuck Avenue, Berkeley, CA 94704).

Light breakfast will be provided for meet-up registrants, while lunch will be available for symposium attendees. Hors d'oeuvres and drinks will be served during the reception.
