About this Community:

Gender disparity seems to have inadvertently made its home in the community impact space and has been documented both inside and outside of Higher Education. Additionally, we know that men are struggling with mental health challenges at higher rates than ever before while navigating shifting gender norms and roles.

What are the societal implications of these two phenomena? Why should we care about addressing this issue among college students specifically? What intentional decisions can you make within your organization to increase male engagement? How might increasing male engagement in the community impact space move the needle on men's mental health?

These questions (and those that you might have to offer on the topic) will be explored in greater depth to assist community engagement professionals in crafting an engagement strategy that specifically addresses these challenges.

What does this mean? This virtual event will be more interactive in nature, and participation is encouraged!

  • You are invited to have your camera on in order to engage with the speakers and other participants
  • You can openly ask questions by unmuting yourself or typing them in the chat
  • There may be interactive components to this event, such as taking a poll, Q&A, or small group discussion
