Wednesday, February 1, 2023 - Wednesday, March 29, 2023
Did you know that with seven, from east-west and north-south, Montana is uniquely home to more tribal colleges (TCUs) than any other state? We will draw upon the rich contributions of these vibrant institutions to raise awareness of their work to advance knowledge and perpetuate the cultures of Montana's indigenous people.
Registration for this series free and is supported by our sponsors. In lieu of registration fees, attendees are encouraged to contribute to featured tribal colleges or to the American Indian College Fund
About the series
As part of its mission to advance the public purposes of higher education, the Montana Campus Compact (MTCC) board seeks to raise awareness of the richness of indigenous knowledge in our state and center the people and institutions who lead the movement here. With the understanding that an eight-hour series will only scratch the surface, we are hopeful to inspire people to learn more and seek out ways of supporting tribal colleges and their work to advance and preserve indigenous knowledge.
Facilitated by former president of Blackfeet Community College, Dr. Karla Bird (Pikuni), this series will raise awareness of the histories, current offerings, and unique contributions of Aaniiih Nakoda College, Blackfeet Community College, Chief Dull Knife College, Fort Peck Community College, Little Big Horn College, Salish Kootenai College, and Stone Child College.
