These new TRUCEN lightning sessions are designed based on the highly successful ones we’ve traditionally held during the annual meeting.  During each of these virtual lightning sessions we’ll highlight four campuses doing promising work in a specific theme.  This session will focus on Civic Engagement Minors, Certificate, and Distinctions.  During this 90 minute session, attendees will: 

• Learn about four different examples of how campuses are approaching the creation and integration of Civic Engagement Minors, Certificate and Distinction programs
• Have an opportunity to ask questions and connect directly with two of the presenters in smaller breakout rooms.

• Framing/introductions by moderator
• 7-minute presentations by each presenter 
  • Community Engagement & Social Change minor at UCLA
  • University of Delaware Community Engagement Scholars
  • Harvard College Civic Engagement Certificate and the Mindich Program in Engaged Scholarship
  • U of MN Community Engagement Scholars Program
• Two rounds of break-out groups (each 15 minutes) where attendees can choose which presenter they want to have a follow-up conversation with 
• Closing comments and key takeaways
