This study examined how Service-Learning pedagogy is used to deliver co-curricular S-L projects in a fully remote platform in Singapore. Ngee Ann Poly’s signature pedagogy, Service-Learning (S-L), was used to infuse experiential learning into a 4-day forum that over 200 students connected the knowledge learnt at a students’ forum to address community needs in a fully-remote platform. This study explored the different elements, considerations, and recommendations in the design, preparation, implementation, of electronic service-learning (eS-L) in the forum during the SARS-Covid-2 pandemic. The study adopted a quantitative research approach, where students were invited to complete a pre-, post-survey to examine the effectiveness of co-curricular eService-Learning in achieving three outcomes in S-L: Academic Learning, Civic Learning and Personal Growth.
|Learning outcomes:
- Examine three S-L outcomes when designing co-curricular eService-Learning.
- Demonstrate how different elements, considerations, and recommendations can be applied when designing, preparing and, implementing co-curricular electronic Service-Learning (eS-L).
- Discuss how technology can be employed in eService-Learning experiences.
