About this Session
Join members from the University of Virginia’s Youth Action Lab and Lugo-McGinness Academy for an hour-long virtual webinar on the application of Youth Participatory Action Research (YPAR). This university-community partnership was recently recognized with one of Campus Compact’s “2025 Excellence in Community-Engaged Partnerships” Awards. During this webinar, we will:
- Introduce YPAR as a framework for validating student voice, choice, and inquiry
- Showcase examples of YPAR projects from Youth Action Lab and Lugo-McGinness Academy
- Facilitate discussion and reflection on future directions for YPAR
Registrants are challenged to actively consider how YPAR can be implemented in their context, engage in meaningful conversations about youth engagement, and leave with resources to support a deeper understanding of YPAR.
