Join us for a conversation with Jumpstart for Young Children and Campus Compact to learn about an exciting federal work study legislative proposal and to offer feedback on FWS and community service opportunities.

Higher education institutions are required to set aside 7% of FWS appropriations for community service student work opportunities. To increase students participation in community-based service, exposure to social impact opportunities, and to build connections between colleges and their communities, we are supporting a proposal that would increase the set-aside from 7-24% triggered by overall increases in FWS appropriations.

As we continue to assemble support and feedback for this proposal, we want to hear from university financial representatives who facilitate FWS opportunities. We want to learn about FWS challenges and successes, how an increase in the federal work study set aside might impact your campus, and more.

We will be hosting two focus group opportunities and are looking for representation from the following communities:

  • Financial aid officers and administrators
  • Federal work study officers
  • Student Jobs administrators and representatives
