About this event

Every fall, community engagement practitioners spend a lot of time recruiting students to get involved in the community once they arrive on campus. Each spring, institutions deploy a myriad of ways to stay connected with young graduates who were community engagement leaders.

However, how much are community engagement professionals involved in the recruitment and preparation of incoming students?  How much time is spent ensuring that community engagement offices are ready for the issues, needs, and focus areas each new generation brings? And how can community engagement offices better make the case to admissions about how community engagement can be a major draw and decision point for incoming students?

InnerView is the leading digital platform empowering students, groups, and schools to showcase community service, track impact, and celebrate achievement. By turning volunteer experiences into compelling visual resumes, InnerView connects youth-led action to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and fosters a culture of compassion, leadership, and purpose.

Every year, InnerView samples over 1,000 of its high school students each quarter to get their take on various civic issues, and this year, they collaborated with Campus Compat to ask them what they are looking for in community engagement opportunities after graduation.

Come to this session to learn more about InnerView, dive into data about what America’s civic youth changemakers are thinking about the next steps, brainstorm more ways to work with your admissions teams on recruiting the next generation, and work with Campus Compact as we try to expand the entryways for all students to find a home in community engagement on their campus.
