Please join us for a virtual information session on Campus Compact’s Community Engagement Professional (CEP) Credentialing Program. In the first hour, attendees will hear from CEPs across the country who have participated in the new credentialing program. In the second hour, a panel of CEPs will describe their experiences facilitating communities of practice (CoPs) aligned with the credentialing program to support individuals to reflect on their professional practice in core competency areas and prepare for the credential application process.

Professional Credentialing Program: Opportunities for Growing the Field and Institutionalizing Community Engagement

Attendees will learn about the background and overview of the CEP Credentialing Program and hear from participants who have completed one or more certificates (micro-credentials). The session is meant to provide a clear understanding of why the program is important for the future of CE as a profession, how to talk with administrators about the need to support professional development, and how to complete one or more microcredential certificates.

Developing Communities of Practice around the Campus Compact CEP Credentialing Program

Panelists will share various Community of Practice (CoP) models they have developed to support CEPs to reflect on their professional practice in particular core competency (micro-credential) areas. After an overview of the theories supporting the effectiveness of CoPs as a cohort-based professional development models, presenters will briefly describe the program models they developed and share stories about the benefits to participating CEPs as well as joys and challenges of facilitating these experiences. Attendees will be led through a facilitated discussion on the similarities and differences of these models while being encouraged to generate ideas for how they could adapt such programs for use within and across their own institutional contexts.
