About the Workshop
How do we create meaningful dialogue about issues of shared public concern? How do we connect education and scholarship with the development of democratic skills and capacities?
Join us on Monday, March 30 for a one-day workshop with Dr. Timothy Shaffer on Creating Space for Democracy. This is a hands-on, skill-building event in which participants will consider the history, theory, and current practices of civic discourse and dialogue in higher education; explore and test resources for planning, implementing, and evaluating civic action projects; and develop and receive feedback on projects.
The workshop is free and open to educational professionals working at the secondary and college/university levels, or in educational policy and planning. We hope all attendees will come away with new ideas, connections, concrete action plans, and inspiration to make a difference in our community.
