Jinkins has developed more than 20 meaningful community partnerships and significantly increased paid sport management internships using his published work, A Shift in Community Engagement Models: A Case Study of Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis and the Indianapolis Business Community, as a model for engaging businesses and community partners in meaningful learning partnerships. Jinkins was the co-architect of the Sports Innovation Institute at IUPUI and hopes to soon launch a similar program at NC to further deepen community engagement relationships.
