Sarah Beth Dempsey is the Assistant Director of Community Engagement and Faculty Development of the Catholic Institute for Lasallian Social Action (CILSA) at Saint Mary's College of California (SMC). In her role, she trains and supports faculty members, students, and community partners who collaborate for community engagement courses. She also oversees the AmeriCorps VISTA program, where SMC is an intermediary sponsor. She earned her Doctor of Education degree from SMC, Master of Science degree in Student Counseling and Personnel Services at Kansas State University, a Bachelor of Arts in English from Sacramento State University, and completed training in sexual assault counseling and alcohol and drug counseling in Santa Barbara.
