EPIC-N is an international network of some 100 university- or community-based programs using the “EPIC Model” of university-community collaboration to advance progress on the UN SDGs. The community-driven EPIC Model matches declared community needs for documentation, design, or research to courses of study at universities, with expert instructors in those courses giving students course credit for working to meet those needs. In this session, Gavin Luter, Managing Director of EPIC-N, will introduce the EPIC Model, share best practices, challenges, and reported impact; and highlight stories of how the model has been adapted to different cultures and regions worldwide . Following this presentation, Gavin will interactively showcase the EPIC Model at work through his program, UniverCity Year.
