Erica Caasi is a recent PhD graduate in curriculum and instruction in literacy studies and teacher learning, research and practice. She develops alternative spaces for adolescent girls to dialogue about sport and sport culture. She brings a critical embodiment and literacy approach to understanding intersections of gender, race, sport, and children’s texts. Erica has taught elementary school and is a competitive powerlifter.
