Dr. Christopher Minnix is Director of the Blazer Core Curriculum and Associate Professor of English at UAB. As Director of the Blazer Core Curriculum, he oversees the integration of UAB’s transformative new general education program, which debuts in Fall of 2023. Formerly, he served as Director of the Freshman English Program in the Department of English. Dr. Minnix’s research is in the field of Rhetoric and Composition Studies and focuses on rhetorical education and the history and practice of political discourse. His first book, Rhetoric and the Global Turn in Higher Education was published in 2018.
