May 11-13, 2022

Join us for a two day retreat focused on building relationships and building an agenda for the collective voice and role of community colleges in enabling full participation–in the economy, in society, and in our democracy. Our current context is characterized by a world reeling from COVID impact, a global racial reckoning, the invasion of Ukraine, student disenrollment, and deepening economic and political divides. We come together to find energy and community and to shape a strategy for shared work. Specifically, we invite you to:

  • Rejuvenate and restore–make the most of the setting and space to connect in real life in a beautiful setting
  • Contribute to conversation about the unique role of community colleges committed to community-based teaching–challenges, and opportunities
  • Center inclusivity and the next generation of community college engagement leaders; invitation, incentive, and support
  • Shape an agenda for the Community Colleges for Democracy affinity network
  • Create a sense of community and relationships that will be sustained

Participants represent a variety of paths and perspectives; community college faculty, community and civic engagement professionals, administrators, and field leaders.
