About this Express Virtual Symposium

This virtual symposium provides a snapshot of how an institution could integrate a campus-wide planning process to advance civic and community engagement in its context. This virtual Call-to-Action Symposium serves as an entry point to Campus Action Planning for Civic & Community Engagement (CAP). It offers a truncated overview of this adaptive approach that aligns campus resources with issues impacting your community.

CAP is a powerful catalyst for advancing engagement as an institutional priority. This virtual “From Planning to Impact” Call-to-Action Symposium offers an opportunity to hear from institutional and field leaders. Panelists and Fellows will share how involving transdisciplinary partners in civic and community engagement directly connects to institutional impact. Join us for this important convening designed to empower higher education institutions to align internal engagement with the public purpose of higher education to sustain a just democracy.

Day 1 brings together the vital voices from the field who have leveraged CAP changemaking, including a campus executive, a community engagement administrator, a community partner, and a philanthropic funder. Together, they will discuss action planning from their perspectives and explore how to collaborate across functions to leverage both campus and community assets for maximum impact.

The momentum continues on Day 2 with dedicated time to dig deeper into Campus Compact’s CAP Framework and engage in pre-planning with the support of the CAP Fellows. These respected community engagement and higher education professionals bring deep experience in campus-wide planning and implementation, providing the technical support and collective wisdom needed to develop action plans that get results. Don't miss this opportunity to turn institutional vision into sustainable, transformative action.

Participants are strongly encouraged to attend both sessions and must register for each session.
