Join this community of practice (CoP) for those implementing Civic Action Plans. We welcome teams of 1-3 people to join this community to discuss challenges and successes in advancing institutional change work. The CoP will be limited to 15 people total. Our goal is to create a body of shared learning that could be a base for continued discussion at Campus Compact's national conference and to build a foundation of support for those implementing systemic change. The CoP will meet for five 90 minute sessions between December and February. Sandra Sgoutas-Emch, Professor of Psychological Sciences and Director of the Center for Educational Excellence, University of San Diego will serve as the lead facilitator.
A Community of Practice (CoP) is a learning community, or collegial network, that Campus Compact defines as “a group of people who share interest in an area of inquiry and engage in collective learning about that issue as it relates to their work or practice. Through discussions, joint activities, and relationship building, the community of practice develops a shared and individual repertoire of resources, skills, and knowledge to use in their practice.”
All Campus Compact CoPs embrace and embody the following equity-based principles that: (a) everyone has knowledge to share, (b) everyone has learning to do, and (c) participants bring many identities and ways of knowing and that such diverse expressions should be encouraged and incorporated into CoP activities.
The CoP will meet five times on Fridays between December 2019 and February 2020 for 90 minute sessions via scheduled virtual meetings (using the Zoom platform). Selected participants are required to participate in all CoP meetings. See detail below.
