Connect with colleagues about the ongoing impact of the Supreme Court affirmative action ruling and begin to plan ways we can collaboratively work to move forward diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts on campuses and in communities.

The hour will include:

• A brief, high-level overview from Paulette Granberry Russell on the legal implications of the ruling and how higher education is responding

• Perspectives from Richard Guarasci about how community engagement leaders can respond through partnerships and pathways programs, based on his new book, Neighborhood Democracy

• Thoughts from Campus Compact Fellow Castel Sweet around how this decision is impacting practitioners and in particular within the context of an integrated DEIB and Civic Engagement structure

• Space to reflect, react, and be with a supportive group of colleagues to discuss how community engagement efforts will continue to ensure that higher ed is an accessible, inclusive space for everyone
