Food security on our campuses is a common goal for institutions of higher education, but how can we stretch our imaginations further to create campuses that embody a culture of food security. Innovative food justice organizations are enacting new solutions to dismantle barriers to access, and many welcome the opportunity to collaborate with a flexible and motivated college or university. This session will explore what innovations for food access are happening in our communities, and how to build mutually beneficial partnerships with these organizations to create food security on your campus.

  • Participants will identify barriers to food access in their campus and community
  • Participants will name several examples of innovative solutions to food access barriers
  • Participants will identify and engage stakeholders and problem solvers in their campus and community
  • Participants will understand how to build mutually beneficial partnerships with community partners
