Description
Students can do amazing things with the right resources and support! This session will examine a case study of one student who was able to develop an implicit bias training for the state’s Sentencing Commission while being a full-time student during a global pandemic. Learn about the instrumental support systems as well as fundamental structures within the program that made this possible. Gain insights into how to make large-scale, student-led, project-based community engagement accessible and sustainable. At the end of the presentation, participants will have the opportunity to workshop their own programs and imagine the possibilities at their institutions.
|Learning outcomes:
- Participants will explore democratizing community engagement through student-led projects
- Participants will learn effective methods of supporting student civic engagement projects
- Participants will brainstorm and reflect on their own ideas for supporting student civic engagement projects
