Description

The Avondale School District - Oakland University Partnership was established in 2013 when Auburn Elementary School was designated as a partnership school and opportunities offered for both Oakland University students and Avondale students. The work of the partnership is guided by a Steering Committee from both organizations who set annual goals, monitor progress and invite requests for university support from each of the district's schools. Goals for the partnership include: provide extended opportunities for student learning in and beyond the classroom; support opportunities for community engagement that enhance student and family well-being; provide professional learning that supports improvement of teachers’ and leaders’ practices; and facilitate ongoing strategic planning and school redesign that enhances student and staff learning and well-being.
