Description
This interactive workshop will guide participants to consider how higher education institutions might support community partners in enhancing their capacities as co-educators through a professional development fellowship model. The session will begin with participants describing the skills, knowledge, talents, relationships, and values that community partners deploy as co-educators of university students in the context of community-engaged learning. Participants will then brainstorm topics and questions that could guide the curriculum for a community partner fellowship program; and identify related resources, possible formats, incentives, and other program components. The session will culminate with presenters sharing a syllabus from their Community Partner Co-Educator Fellowship program and highlighting learning themes that emerged from participant reflections to inspire participants to give it a try.
