Name
CAP 2.0: Strategically Implementing and Assessing an Institutional Civic Action Plan
Date & Time
Monday, March 30, 2020, 10:30 AM - 12:00 PM
Description
Three years ago, institutions across the country began responding to Campus Compact’s call to action and making the commitment to develop Civic Action Plans (CAPs). The creation of the CAP was the first step, but the work of developing benchmarks and assessing progress toward the goals is ongoing. This session is focused on engaging participants in a dialogue about the current stage of their CAPs and sharing ideas on enhancing their practices. The session presenters will outline the work at their institution in creating benchmarks, tracking progress, and assessing results. The session will provide ample opportunities for participants to reflect on their own institutions’ CAPs, the implementation and evaluation processes being used, and possibilities for enhancing this work.

Learning outcomes:
  • Create benchmarks in which to target goals and outcomes of the CAP
  • Design a framework for tracking progress of specific initiatives in the CAP
  • Implement an assessment plan to measure achievements and progress
  • Develop a strategy for dissemination of information on plan progress
