Increasingly, campuses are seeking to support multi-disciplinary, cross-sector, and multi-institutional partnerships. However, these efforts operate in a context of prevalent and persistent individualism that preferences “me” over “we”, which limits full participation. Come discuss and explore how individualism perpetuates structural and cultural injustices, and learn about several initiatives that support the development of collective approaches to partnership development through democratic processes. This session will aid community partners, faculty, community engagement professionals, and senior administrators in thinking about how to build and support more diverse and inclusive partnerships.
