Description
Explore different Community of Practice (CoP) models for community-engagement professionals based on Campus Compact’s new CEP Credentialing Program, from their conception through implementation and impact of the programs. After an overview of the theory behind CoPs, presenters will briefly describe the micro-credential around which their CoP was built and their program model, and will share stories that demonstrate the benefits of participating in these programs and the micro-credentialing experience. Participants will be led through a facilitated discussion on the similarities and differences of these models while generating ideas for how they could be adapted within and across different institutional contexts.

Learning outcomes:
  • Describe the benefits and challenges of creating and participating in CoPs for the CEP Credentialing Program
  • Generate ideas for how to adapt CoP models to their institutional contexts
  • Articulate the benefits for participating in these opportunities and the micro-credentialing process
