Name
PICCE: A Case-Study of Leveraging Inter-Institutional Assets to Grow Community Engagement
Date & Time
Tuesday, March 31, 2020, 11:15 AM - 12:15 PM
Description
Community engagement professionals spend time and energy partnering with communities, but less often do they work to partner strategically with one another. Inter-institutional partnership has significant benefits for all types of campuses to include asset-leveraging, improved community partnership, local knowledge creation, improved operational efficiency, colleagueship through a network of engagement professionals, and civic recognition. PICCE (Partners in Campus and Community Engagement) is a regional cooperative of educational institutions, community partners and other stakeholders committed to the promotion of campus/community engagement in Spokane, WA. Localized engagement networks are relatively rare, but they offer tremendous promise to engagement professionals who share communities with neighboring campuses. This session presents a model for inter-institutional partnership with activities supporting potential design in your home community.
