Description
Using Gonzaga University’s Place-Based Initiative Pilot as a case study, this session will highlight an approach to the exploration and developmental phases of a place-based initiative. Attendees will learn about the process and strategies employed during the pilot year which sought to engage campus and community in the design and development of a university-wide place-based initiative.
 
Learning outcomes
  • Attendees will learn about processes and strategies that support PBI development efforts.
  • Learn about the tensions that may be encountered as institutions seek to develop a place-based initiative.
  • Engage as a place-based initiative learning community by sharing emerging questions, key challenges, and innovative ideas/recommendations.
