Becca Alonso is a Master of Public Affairs student at the LBJ School of Public Affairs at UT Austin, where she focuses on policy communications, health policy, and community-centered research. She currently serves as the Program Coordinator for TX Votes at the Annette Strauss Institute for Civic Life, overseeing one of the largest nonpartisan student voter engagement organizations in Texas. In this role, she leads strategic planning, manages a team of undergraduate leaders, coordinates large-scale civic engagement events, and strengthens partnerships across campus and the Austin community. Before graduate school, Becca worked as a Senior Bilingual Outreach Coordinator at Foundation Communities, helping Central Texans access social services and federal programs. Her undergrad background is in Latin American Studies and Women and Gender Studies, with research on Indigenous feminist movements in Mexico, which informs her commitment to equitable policy design and communication.
