Description
In this session, I will offer a model for teaching the next generation about immigration policy in the US and how we got to where we are today. Faculty, students, and other participants will engage in dialogue about new ways to design orderly, humane, and beneficial immigration policies that will boost US economic dynamism and innovation and help create pathways of opportunity for immigrants at all skill levels. It is important for social sciences faculty to be engaged in dialogues with each other and with community partners about how to best teach students about the critical role that immigration has played in American life and the possibilities that exist to create a just, compassionate policy response to migrants.
