Student journalists occupy a unique and important position on their campuses: they are both trusted messengers of campus news and community members living the stories they tell. This session will draw on lessons from Common Ground Journalism (CGJ), a national initiative of Common Ground USA equipping student reporters to tell stories across divides. Facilitators and a former student participant will share how CGJ supports students reporting in contentious times and how campuses can similarly engage student journalists to foster belonging, trust, and civic participation.
