This project, funded by the Educating Character Initiative, reaffirms Tisch College of Civic Life's commitment to civic engagement by revisiting the Tisch College Civic Character Development Framework. In nine focus groups with undergraduates, we invited students to reflect on the three primary components of the frameworkâcivic identity, civic leadership, and civic agency. In this roundtable, we will share an overview of the project and some of our preliminary analyses, highlighting findings that challenge and expand our conceptualization of civic character and understanding of how civic life is enacted on campus. Participants will be invited to reflect on what resonates with their own experiences and discuss ways to center student voice in civic learning and engagement at their institutions.
