Lewis & Clark College, in Portland, OR, has embarked on an institution-wide partnership with a local community development organization, Albina Vision Trust (AVT). AVT's goal is to re-root the Black community in Portland, which was displaced by urban renewal projects. Lewis & Clark is AVT's education partner, and the school is in the early stages of building this relationship. L&C is building institutional-wide infrastructure to support programming, research and classes in our law school, graduate programs in education and counseling and undergraduate liberal arts college in forming a mutually beneficial partnership. Participants will learn about building an institution-wide partnership and creating structures to support short-, mid- and long-term projects in the community.
