Faculty and community engagement professionals must balance equity for students and community partners in the design of individual courses, and of programs of study. This session addresses questions of student well-being and belonging as fundamental for equity, while re-centering reciprocity with community partners. Such reciprocity should be understood as equity for community partners. The session will draw upon faculty and partner experiences, principles of inclusive teaching and the TILT framework, to offer design steps for courses and programs of study that support student well-being, belonging and success, while also supporting reciprocity with community partners.
