This session will offer a set of civic-oriented practices for training students to conduct civic engagement research. The session draws from the presenter's experiences co-leading a large-scale civic engagement research project in the United States with a team of students, and will include topics such as team and trust building, co-creation of research instruments and procedures, reflection, and publication. Additional attention will be given to discussing the benefits of centering youth expertise in civic research and evaluation design and implementation, especially within higher education contexts.
