This session equips participants with frameworks and tools to design, launch, and sustain equity-driven collaboratories that move beyond one-off partnerships or isolated service-learning projects. While engagement in higher education is often framed around individual courses or pilot initiatives, collaboratories integrate place-based pedagogy, participatory research, community-defined impact, and long-term governance into a repeatable, system-level model. Led by a practitioner with experience in philanthropy, coalition leadership, and higher education engagement, this Knowledge-to-Action Workshop offers strategies for equitable compensation, shared assessment, and embedding collaboratories into institutional infrastructure. Participants will leave with templates, case examples, and a draft collaboratory framework adaptable to their local context.
