Description

At the University of Michigan, the Ginsberg Center's Student Grants Program reimagines traditional grantmaking by centering student development and reflective practice. Unlike conventional, closed-door funding processes, this program integrates advising, reflective learning, and peer review to strengthen student-community partnerships. Through a variety of methods ranging from one-on-one advising to public presentations, the program equips students with skills for ethical and sustainable civic engagement. Participants in this session will explore how reflective practice can be embedded into funding structures, discover a replicable model for student- and peer-led grantmaking, and take away strategies for aligning financial support with community priorities.
