Our current political world is characterized by information and ideological bubbles - we are literally living in different worlds, experiencing different realities, shaped by media sources and political actors that articulate competing political and ideological needs. One of the places where it is still (for now) possible to encounter the other in an atmosphere of discovery and learning is higher education, though its spaces are becoming contested and strained as well. This roundtable represents an effort to create a space where we can address these epistemological challenges. These unprecedented times offer opportunities for community-building, deepening understanding of the founding missions of our institutions, and leaning into meaningful conversations that may appear too difficult to approach.
