Sustainably-funded entry points into paid community service roles for college students, such as the Federal Work-Study (FWS) program, are underutilized due to implementation barriers at the institutional level. This session uplifts promising practices from the Partnership for Student Success, a nationwide network of higher education institutions, districts, and nonprofits collaborating to place college students into P-12 student support roles through FWS jobs. The presenter(s) will share high-leverage strategies for building robust institutional infrastructure for community engagement work, using minimal resources. Participants will see replicable examples of how administrators, faculty, and staff can work together to implement FWS programs, support college students' career-connected learning through community engagement, communicate program impact, and launch "Grow-Your-Own" initiatives with quality, scale, and sustainability in mind.
