St. Olaf College's Institute for Freedom and Community (IFC) aims to encourage dialogue that opens minds. The IFC built and piloted a "Dialogue Across Difference" Microcredential with twelve students during the 2024-25 academic year. The microcredential aligned with several strategic priorities of the college including civic engagement and career readiness. Hear from the badge designers about the "Educate-Explore-Engage" model that they employed, the dialogue facilitation training and methods that were used with students, the challenges that were encountered, and lessons learned. Session leaders will utilize informal polling methods and a group brainstorming session around microcredentialing dialogue efforts within different campus contexts.
