Description

The purpose of this session is to highlight a campus resource--the library--as a partner and facilitator of community engagement work. The objectives include highlighting work academic libraries do for community engagement and having discussion on potential areas for growth and creative needs-based solutions to shared barriers of community engagement across campuses and their communities. Key takeaways include shared discussion on how to establish new campus partners who may have shared interests and existing community partners, and conversation on how to expand the way campus define and practice community engagement. The overall goal is to think about how community engaged work on campus can transform existing campus spaces, like the library, into a more inclusive space for all.
