Description

Food insecurity continues to impact vulnerable populations across communities, particularly among college students. As a complex, “wicked” problem, it demands multi-faceted and sustainable solutions. AmeriCorps VISTA members are responding by strengthening higher education systems through capacity building, partnership development, and systems-level change to address hunger at its roots. This panel will explore how VISTA programs are tackling food insecurity by expanding access to nutritious food, building sustainable partnerships, and increasing community capacity to create lasting impact. Featuring VISTA members, the discussion will highlight successful strategies, share case studies, and reflect on lessons learned from diverse campus and community contexts. Attendees will gain insight into best practices and the power of collaboration, leaving with ideas for how national service can be a catalyst for innovation and meaningful change in the fight against hunger.
