Across higher education, civic and democracy work takes many forms—curricular initiatives, co-curricular engagement, faculty networks, student-led movements, and community partnerships. Yet these efforts often operate in parallel rather than in concert. This session invites participants to explore how we might more intentionally connect these strands, moving from fragmented activity toward a more integrated civic ecosystem. Through dialogue and shared mapping, we will consider how diverse approaches—such as civic engagement, civic education, and public scholarship—each contribute distinctive value while advancing common democratic goals. Together, we'll examine strategies for fostering coherence across self-organized and institutional channels, articulating our unique strengths, and creating more coordinated, mutually reinforcing efforts to strengthen democracy through higher education.
