Alfredo Barcenas serves as the Director for Student Governments and as the Civic and Voter Empowerment Coordinator under the division of Student Affairs at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). In these roles, Alfredo is a chief advisor to both the Associated Students and the Graduate and Professional Student Associations and leads the voter engagement portfolio for the campus. Prior to joining UCSD, Alfredo served as the Interim Executive Director for the Associated Students, Inc. (ASI) at Cal State San Bernardino (CSUSB) in which he was responsible for leading the financial operations of ASI, the development of student officers and board members, overseeing the legislative affairs and productions teams, and managing all corporate personnel. During his time at CSUSB, Alfredo also led civic engagement and government relation projects as the Associate Director in which he led CSUSB to be named the CSU campus with the most creative approach for registering students to vote and with largest percentage of its student body registered to vote as part of the California Secretary of State Ballot Bowl.
