Community-engaged institutions of higher education realize partnering with local and regional nonprofit organizations is critical to solving grand challenges and wicked problems. To successfully involve and mobilize students in this work, they must be equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to collaborate, and create change. This has been the mission of the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance (NLA) for over 75 years. NLA empowers leaders and transforms communities by focusing on ten core competencies and encouraging ongoing application of learning through classroom-based service learning, internships, and volunteerism. In this session, we will share the pathways for your institution to credential students, faculty, and staff as Certified Nonprofit Professionals (CNPs), including case examples and the importance of student outcomes.
