In this hands-on session, participants will experience a fresh take on voter engagement through the artsy method of zine-making. If you're tired of the same old red, white, and bland methods then this session is for you! The presenter will share how she has used zines to engage voters on her college campus and in surrounding communities. Then participants will have a go at creating a mini-zine of their own. No self-declared artistic talent/skills necessary - ANYONE can make a zine! WARNING. Side effects of zine-making may include: feeling nostalgic, long-lasting bursts of joy, uncontrollable desire to create, strong sense of community, development of an artist identity, paper cuts, & a messy workstation.
