For more than two years, colleagues reviewed existing training opportunities for graduate students in SLCE. They formed the Graduate Student Preparation in CE Research Community of Practice (CoP) with current graduate student, practitioner and faculty scholars. This session shares findings on existing training, including newer opportunities for graduate students at Campus Compact, via the Carnegie Elective Community Engagement Classification application review process, and faculty-led publicly engaged research labs. We invite attendees to participate in a collaborative research and practice agenda setting that advances our work beyond identifying training opportunities, toward a deeper understanding of the impact of such training on the development of the next generation of publicly engaged field leaders on our campuses and in our professional associations.
